Chuckegg Creek Wildfire
The Town of High level was evacuated on May 20, 2019 due to the Chuckegg Creek Wildfire. To mark the occasion, an exhibit was created to highlight the events of the fire in spring 2019.
The exhibit was intended to be the centerpiece for a town-wide celebration on the anniversary of the evacuation. However, due to social distancing protocols in place arising from efforts to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the museum was closed to the public and the town-wide celebration had been cancelled.
In an effort to bring the exhibit to local residents, the experience was moved online. Please join Mayor Crystal McAteer as she walks through the main exhibit and talks about the events that took place in 2019 during the Chuckegg Creek Wildfire.
