Notice to local residents

Due to a number of concerns raised about speeding, particularly in the area of 92 Street, the Town of High Level would like to ask local residents to be mindful of their speed on local roads.

Speeding on municipal roads can cause a number of safety hazards and dangerous situations. According to Alberta Transportation, an average of 64 people die and another 8,044 people are injured in collisions at intersections in Alberta each year – many involving speeding.

Speed signIn an effort to ensure we are sharing the road in a safe manner, Community Peace Officers will be stepping up traffic patrols and watching for speedsters in particular. Nobody wants a ticket, so we hope you’ll keep an eye on the speedometer and make sure you are not risking one.
