Changes proposed for Community Standards Bylaw

High Level Logo

Changes could be coming to the Community Standards Bylaw in order to clarify some portions of the document and to add a number of Fire Smart standards intended to make the town more secure in the event of a fire.

Council passed first reading of the amendments to the bylaw during their regular meeting on Aug. 12, which opens the door for community consultation to the changes. Summaries of some of the sections, including the Fire Standards section, will be available at tonight’s "Get to Know You Night" event at the High Level Sports Complex beginning at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, copies of the full draft bylaw with the changes highlighted will also be available.

It is hoped local residents will take some time and look through the information provided. Any changes to the Community Standards Bylaw would not be finalized until passing second and then third reading before Council.

Please note: proposed additions to the CSB are marked in red, while proposed deletions have a strike-through.
