Sunday, April 26, was a busy day for High Level Fire Department as they responded to two structure fires in the community.
At 1:00 a.m., HLFD was called to the High Level Trailer Court for trailer fire. This fire started under a trailer and caused significant damage before being brought under control.
Two people were home at the time, but there were no injuries sustained during this event. Crews cleared the scene at 9:00 a.m.
The second fire occurred at a home on 103 street at around 4 p.m. The fire took place in the basement and caused an unspecified amount of damage before being contained by fire crews.
Five members of a family and two dogs were in the residence at the time. The family was able to escape, but the two dogs had to be rescued from the home. The animals were treated for smoke inhalation by HLFD members and EMS at the scene. Crews were back at home by 8 p.m.
The causes of both fires is still under investigation.
A great job by all HLFD members for a long day!
