Food for the Fire
Local restaurants within the Town of High Level played an essential role in ensuring everyone working on the fire was properly fed and hydrated. Traditions Café, Tim Hortons, The Best Western Mirage, and Flamingo Inn worked together to provide 3 meals a day for both structural firefighters and EOC workers.
Along with regular meals Traditions Café raised over $2,000.00 for a "Coffee Fund," which allowed anyone working the fire to come in and get a coffee or tea. Tim Horton’s also raised over $3000.00 in donations and was able to supply free beverages to wildfire workers for over 2 weeks.
