Changes to High Level Banner of Remembrance Program for 2021

Changes to High Level Banner of Remembrance Program for 2021

Two new banners will be available to residents taking part in the Banner of Remembrance program to help honour a loved one when they have no photos available.

For 2021, the Banner of Remembrance Task Force has approved the two new banner options to compliment the original banner created in 2020.

Last year was the first year for the High Level Banner of Remembrance program as a way to honour past or present members of the military with a connection to High Level, Mackenzie County, Paddle Prairie, or Keg River. The program is an ongoing legacy project. It was very successful, resulting in a number of banners and wide public support.

The program is managed by the Banners of Remembrance Task Force, formed of members from the Town of High Level, Veterans, Cadets, Persons Interested, RCMP, and High Level and District Chamber of Commerce.

Anyone interested in honouring a member of the military with a connection to the communities of High Level, Mackenzie County, Paddle Prairie, and Keg River, is invited to visit the Town’s website and fill out a Banner of Remembrance application or pick up an application at the town office.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for individuals or corporations interested in playing a role in growing the program. The cut off date for application is July 31 of each year to allow the banners to be printed and displayed by October of each year.
