Two major industrial roads are being rehabilitated as part of the Town of High Level’s 2023 road construction season.
Crews are currently on site and work has begun on 92 Street and 114 Avenue. They are expected to be on site for about three weeks.
92 Street and 114 Avenue are major industrial corridors that provide access from Highway 58 and Highway 35 and meet at the entrance to Tolko Industries.
Work on the two streets involves the excavation and repair of places where the road has failed, the replacement of culverts, improvement of drainage, and repaving of the road. Additionally, 114 Avenue will be widened.
The estimated cost of the rehabilitation of these roads is $2,968,469. The Town of High Level has received funding under Alberta’s Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP) in the amount of $1,513,105, leaving a balance of $1,455,364 to be funded from by debenture.
Drivers are asked to respect construction signage and drive safely through these areas while work is underway.
