About Councillor Scott
Nickoi Scott was born in Jamaica and immigrated to Canada in 2019, where she lived in Calgary before moving to High Level with her husband, Joshua.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental health from the University of Technology, Jamaica, a Diploma in Funeral Services and Cremation from Mount Royal University, and a certificate in Data Analysis.
Nickoi spent three years working as a licensed Funeral Director in Calgary; she now works with Alberta Health Services as a Public Health Inspector in High Level.
Beyond her professional roles, Nickoi is committed to community service. She was the President of EHCO’D (Environmental Health Community Outreach and Development), a small nonprofit organization geared toward community empowerment and mobilization.
She has also volunteered as a mentor at the Montego Bay Community Home for Girls, supporting vulnerable youth through encouragement, stability, and care.
Nickoi’s career—spanning environmental health, funeral service, data analysis, and community outreach—has shaped her into a compassionate listener, critical thinker, and collaborative leader. As a councillor, she is dedicated to representing all residents and helping build a safer, stronger, and more inclusive High Level.
