The Development Permit application gives the Town the opportunity to review a proposed development to determine whether it complies with the Municipal Development Plan, the relevant Area Structure Plan, and the Land Use Bylaw. These documents are used as a guide on how land should be used and developed, in order to prevent developments which may cause conflicts with existing or planned land uses within the community. This application also assists the applicant by addressing several potential issues early on in the planning stage.
